Blunt - Paleheart is honest... to a fault, actually. She'll give her opinion if you ask for it, all right... but you won't like what you hear, unless you enjoy having every bit of your situation broken down and examined critically, usually being indirectly insulted. 

Cold - The albino she-cat stays true to her name, and is rather distant towards her clanmates. She normally ignores them, and keeps in the shadows of the territory. If forced into a conversation, Paleheart will glare and refuse to reply, unless she feels the need to. She does indeed have a soft side... she just doesn't show it publicly. At all. 

Cynical - Paleheart believes that every cat is out for his or herself, and therefore is actually rather distrusting of almost everyone in the clans. The only ones she feels are out to better the lives of others are medicine cats and the leader of her clan. 

Innovative - Because of her albinism, Paleheart has trouble being in direct sunlight or in bright places in general. Because of this, she's invented ways to keep her sensitive skin from burning and only takes night patrols... if she does get burned, she's learned easy remedies for that too, though they require some medicinal herbs, and the testing that she needed to figure them out caused more than one instance where she only made her burns worse. 

Clever - Because of her constant ideas, the she-cat has become very intelligent and has learned many things about the world around her. Small details that some cats would have brushed off tend to return to her, and she always looks for quick solutions to her problems... including battle. 

Loyal - Despite her mistrust of the other warriors in her clan, Paleheart is deeply in debt to them for taking her in and healing her as a kit, and will fight for them to the death. Her loyalty to the clan is fairly unshakable, though she does tend to glare at her clanmates every now and then to keep up her hateful reputation. 


History~ 

Phantom was born in a small litter of three kittens... or, well, it would have been three kittens if her brothers hadn't been stillborn. Her mother, Lily, was devastated by the loss of her kits, and her parents didn't recognize that she was alive until she finally began to move after a few scary seconds. Although her parents weren't thrilled with the idea of having a kitten that looked nothing like them, they quickly got over it and soon began cooing over their only daughter, promising her a good and happy life. When Phantom opened her eyes, her mother nearly screamed at her pupil's tint, but her father remained calm about the situation.

His brother had been albino as well, so he didn't fear the kitten's red eyes like his mate did. That night they argued, Lily becoming a nervous wreck and thinking that her daughter had been cursed by the spirits her mother and father had said resided in the forest when she was a kitten. Hawk, her mate and Phantom's father, calmed her down, explaining that it wasn't a big deal, and that he knew other cats with the odd eye color. 

Of course, Lily was still afraid of her daughter after that, believing that she was possessed. Hawk continued to dote on his daughter, though, which soon turned the shy kitten into a daddy's girl. He taught her a lot in the few moons after she was born, and after a time Lily began to feel comfortable around her daughter again. Of course, the rogues quickly learned that their daughter had to be nocturnal after they let her out of the den for the first time. Under her fur, her skin had turned blotchy and red, and later some fur even began to fall from her ears. Her parents were mortified and understandably scared... though not as much as Phantom was. Her entire body itched and burned so much that the kit thought she was going to die. 

After a few days of her father and mother trying every remedy they knew, she eventually got better... but Phantom would always have a fear of the sun after that. 

Around the time she turned six moons, however, tragedy struck. Hawk was out hunting for his family while Lily and Phantom relaxed in the shade of the moon, watching the Autumn leaves fall down around them. Phantom didn't know why at the time, though she know suspects that it was for territory, a band of rogues showed up and started yowling for them to leave, as this was now their territory. Lily wasn't frightened by being outnumbered, and soon retaliated. The fight was short, and ended with Lily's entrails on the forest floor. Phantom tried to run, but not before she was given a deep gash that stretched from her shoulder to her chest. 

To this day, Paleheart isn't sure how she made it to the Eagleclan border. Perhaps the adrenaline and fear gave her a boost. Either way, it saved her life, and she was found shortly after by a border patrol. She soon fainted from blood-loss, but when she woke up the leader offered her a place in the clan. Reluctantly, with nowhere else to go and no real mean to survive, she accepted. 

Her apprentice years were brutal, filled with other cats staring at her for her strange eyes and horrific scars. She let them stare, though, and soon grew to be distant to these other cats. The rogue incident made her wary of others, and even after all these years she's still suspicious of others.

Briarpaw shivered, her tail twitching a little as a slight breeze ruffled her thin fur. This was why she hated spring... the only reason, but still. Despite complaining under her breath, the scent of another cat, one not of her clan, made her stop in her tracks, amber eyes widening. Had she crossed the border again? She hoped not... last time she did, she nearly had her tail bitten off. Despite her anxiousness, the young she cat eventually did speak.

"He-Hello?" Briarpaw called out nervously. She wasn't afraid of who it might be, to be honest... it was more a fear of them telling her mentor that she'd wandered for the third time that moon!
